SOLIO COMMUNITY MEDICAL CLINIC
HEALTHCARE DESIGN
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The objective of this project was to design the Solio Medical Centre as a fully functional, medically compliant, and welcoming healthcare environment. In order to achieve this, extensive research was conducted into the specific requirements of medical spaces, including spatial planning, hygiene standards, patient flow, and accessibility needs.

Throughout the design process, I worked closely alongside surgeons and nurses to ensure that the layout and functionality of the centre support real medical practices and workflows. This collaboration ensured that all spaces operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with medical standards.

The design was required to align with Solio’s established aesthetics and colour scheme, creating a cohesive identity while maintaining a calm, warm, and welcoming atmosphere for patients and staff. Accessibility was a key priority, and the entire facility was designed to be fully wheelchair-friendly.

The final layout plan includes a comprehensive range of medical and support spaces, such as a radiology room, dental room, education centre, ophthalmology room, GP and ENT rooms, temporary inpatient area, burns unit, and an emergency stabilization theatre. In addition, the design incorporates essential support facilities including a staff bathroom, as well as guest bathrooms for ladies, gents, and disabled users.

Overall, the project aimed to balance clinical efficiency with comfort and inclusivity, resulting in a medical centre that functions effectively while providing a reassuring and patient-focused environment.
